In this lesson of Waku Waku Japanese, Konomi teaches some directions in Japanese. When walking on the street, looking at a map or even in a taxi, you can try out some of these words.

Migi – right

Hidari – left

Massugu – straight

Magaru – to turn

Migi ni magaru – turn right

Hidari ni magaru – turn left

Massugu iku – go straight

So next time you’re telling the driver what direction to go, try out these simple words, migi, hidari and massugu!
