On April 29, Japanese Foreign Minister Nobutaka Machimura addressed a private luncheon held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.  In his speech, “Japan’s Global Strategy and the Japan-US Global Partnership on the 60th Anniversary of the End of World War II,” Foreign Minister Machimura discussed the current state of Japan’s foreign policy and touched on issues including the US-Japan Security Alliance, tensions on the Korean peninsula over North Korea’s nuclear ambitions, and post-war relations between Japan and her North Asian neighbors.  Frank Ellsworth, President of The Japan Society, presided.
