For half a century from Rashomon (1950) to Madadayo (1993), Teruyo Nogami stood by Akira Kurosawa as a script supervisor and principal assistant. In this candid discussion, she recalls Kurosawa’s creative energy on and off the set, and how she supported him during his glory years as well as in times of struggle. Moderated by Japanese film specialist, Michael Jeck.  Followed by a reception and book signing of Nogami’s recently published memoir, Waiting on The Weather: Making Movies with Akira Kurosawa. Held in conjunction with the Tatsuya Nakadai retrospective at Film Forum, featuring five Kurosawa films.

Tickets: $10/$8 Japan Society members, $5 seniors & students.
