Join AWIB for a tour of New York City’s hottest artistic hub—Chelsea. We will get a closer look at this dynamic art scene as we visit 3 women—owned galleries.  They will talk about art as well as how they started their galleries.  All are located in the West Chelsea Arts Building, a center for acclaimed and cutting-edge creative visions.

A special reception will cap off the evening, where we will enjoy wine with desserts.

The schedule is as follows for registered attendees:

6 pm  Tour begins at Bose Pacia, 508 West 26th Street, 11th Floor. Co-founded in 1994 by Shumita Bose, this is the first gallery in the West to specialize in contemporary South Asian art.

The second stop is Chappell Gallery, 526 West 26th Street, 3rd Floor.  Founded by Alice Chappell, this space showcases stunning glass sculptures from around the world, including Japan and Korea.

7 pm  The last stop is Caelum Gallery, 526 West 26th Street, 3rd Floor. Co-founder Misuzu Takemoto features multimedia installations that the New York Times and various art publications have praised.
