Japanese gardens are great works of art created for the profound contemplation of the relationships between nature, society and ourselves. Come examine the history, philosophy, and design of a wide variety of gardens in Japan, through slides, video, and discussion at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. You’ll also take a close look at BBG’s own Japanese Hill and Pond Garden and design a miniature garden with sand and stones to take home.
