TOKYO STRING QUARTET

Saturday, October 23 at 8 pm

The Tokyo String Quartet offers revealing performances of pieces by distinguished Austrian-Jewish composers Hanns Eisler, Arnold Schoenberg, Alexander Zemlinsky and Gustav Mahler alongside the bold, witty works of their predecessor, Franz Joseph Haydn. Discover the subtle beauty of Eisler’s long-neglected music, the volatile moods in Schoenberg’s setting of a Richard Dehmel poem, the restlessness that underlies Zemlinsky’s precise composition, and the young Mahler’s rarely performed Piano Quartet.
