The 5th World Bonsai Convention will be held May 28 – 31, 2005 in the beautiful and inspiring capital city of Washington, D.C. This is only the second time in the event’s 20+ year history that the convention will be held in the United States.

The World Bonsai Convention will offer the rare opportunity to see many of the foremost bonsai and penjing masters in the world demonstrate their expert techniques. In addition to workshops
conducted by outstanding practitioners, lectures will be given by the world’s most prominent scholars on bonsai, viewing stones, and pots.

Exhibits of outstanding bonsai and penjing specimens, viewing stones, and pots will be on display throughout the convention. As well, numerous vendors will display and sell bonsai-related items.

In conjunction with the convention, the U.S. National Arboretum in Washington will showcase both it’s permanent bonsai display as well as multiple exhibits including I.C. Su’s magnificent antique
bonsai pot collection. A dinner and tours of the Arboretum’s National Bonsai and Penjing Museum are scheduled for Sunday, May 29th.
