On this episode of Nihon NY, we visited Japadog down in St. Marks in New York City.

Starting from a single hot dog stand in Vancouver, Canada, Japadog owner Noriki Tamura has seen his unique take on the traditional hot dog gain widespread popularity as he recently opened up the newest location in New York City. With flavors and varieties such as the "Okonomi" (okonomiyaki style hot dog), "Terimayo" (teriyaki, Japanese mayo and seaweed) and "Oroshi" (grated daikon and special sauce), it’s easy to understand how these hot dogs have caught people’s attention.

We sat down and to talk and eat with owner Noriki Tamura about the beginnings of Japadog, combining Japanese taste into hot dog form and his goals for the future.
