While at Japan Society for his sold out concert and talk with fellow artist Christian Marclay, Otomo Yoshihide took time out to talk with us about his inspirations and future aspirations along with his turntable installation that helped convert Japan Society’s bamboo pond into a garden of noise. We also had time to discuss Project Fukushima, a centered around music and poetry.

Otomo’s computer operated installation–a series of empty turntables set up to produce a variety of sounds–created as an homage to Christian Marclay and exhibited at museums and galleries throughout Japan in recent years.
