Momijigari: The Japanese Autumn Garden
The Conservatory courtyards serve as the venue to experience the harmony and contrast of a traditional Japanese garden across the span of the autumn season. This colorful courtyard exhibition features elegant Japanese maples and conifers, artfully crafted bonsai and stunning chrysanthemums trained in the traditional Japanese styles of cascades, pillars and globes.

Bonsai
For centuries the Japanese have practiced the art of bonsai, miniaturizing mature shrubs and trees to create graceful, living sculptures. This ancient art form comes to the Conservatory in a display of select bonsai specimens from the Yama Ki Bonsai Society. With evergreen and deciduous trees, forest plantings, and compositions including multiple species, these formal creations are a timeless tradition and an autumn favorite.

Tickets: $40 Japan Society members only (includes lunch & bus transportation).
