Japan Society Members’ Weekend at The New York Botanical Garden
Saturday, October 27 & Sunday, October 28
10 am – 6 pm
FREE* for Japan Society members
During the weekend of October 27-28, Japan Society members receive free admission to The New York Botanical Garden and the extraordinary exhibition Kiku: The Art of the Japanese Chrysanthemum.
Kiku is the culmination of a five-year cultural exchange and collaboration with Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden in Tokyo, and represents the most elaborate flower and cultural exhibition ever presented by The New York Botanical Garden. The exhibition will feature several distinct styles of the Japanese chrysanthemum, highlighted by dramatic shapes and arrangements. These include “thousand bloom” plants with hundreds of simultaneous blossoms all from a single plant, and single-stem plants up to six feet in height with a single perfect flower balanced at the top.
