This program will be held offsite at the University of Southern California.
The USC U.S. – China Institute, Japan Society New York, and National Consortium for Teaching about Asia (NCTA) are offering a complimentary one-day workshop on Japan at USC for educators.
Join us at this workshop to examine the history of modern Japan from the arrival of Commodore Perry’s Black Ships and the country’s subsequent opening and rapid westernization to changes in its interactions with the rest of the world. The workshop features presentations by leading scholars and will focus on ideas and activities you can employ with your own students.
There is no cost to participate. All materials, refreshments, parking, and lunch will be provided.
