36-hour professional development course for grade K-5 educators in cooperation with the NYC Department of Education After School Professional Development Office

Six Sessions:
Sat. Feb. 11, Sun. Feb. 12, Mar. 25, Apr. 1, Sat. Apr. 28, Sun. Apr. 29
9 AM – 4 PM

Spice up mathematics lessons with Japanese cooking or geometric origami paper folding. Explore the natural world and natural disasters through the lens of Japanese geography. Engage visual learners and reluctant readers with traditional kamishibai storytelling and modern manga graphic novels. In short, use Japan to strengthen and enhance existing teaching goals, particularly with practical, interactive projects to engage young learners. This course is recommended for elementary school educators interested in expanding their social studies, reading, ELA, art and mathematics lessons.

Tuition:
Non-credit $125

3P credit ASPDP Course Fee for NYC school teachers $125, Japan Society Registration Fee $100.
