Fumiko Kometani, an award-winning author based in California, discusses a wide range of issues, misunderstandings and challenges surrounding cross-cultural communication. Her talk is based on personal experience: living in the U.S. for more than 40 years; being married to a Jewish man; writing in Japanese while being away from Japan; and raising a son with disabilities.
