MacArthur “genius” fellowship awardees Eiko & Koma return to Japan Society (where they made their U.S. debut in 1976) for the world premiere of their latest work, Mourning, with celebrated avant-garde pianist Margaret Leng Tan. Eiko and Koma began to study and perform with Tatsumi Hijikata’s company in Tokyo, and later with Kazuo Ohno in the early 1970s. The two have developed their own inimitable performance experience that has been seen at prominent venues around the world.
