Cutting edge computer games, social networking, pop music, anime and manga have transformed life in 21st Century Japan and captivate many American teens. This course will teach you what you need to know so that your lessons on contemporary Japan do not remain stalled in the previous century! While teaching how technology has transformed Japanese culture, we will also introduce ideas on how to use new developments in social media to better engage all of your students in the K-12 social studies, reading. ELA, art, and Japanese language classrooms. Prior knowledge of Japan and technical expertise not required.

Tuition:
Non-credit $125

3P credit ASPDP Course Fee for NYC school teachers $125, Japan Society Registration Fee $100
(register for 3P credit at http://schools.nyc.gov/teachers/aspdp).

Both credit and non-credit K-12 educators must fill out the Japan Society Registration Form (PDF).
