Japan Society presents a 12-hour concert and open house extravaganza benefiting organizations that directly help people affected by the earthquake and tsunamis that struck Japan. In addition to various music acts by dozens of artists, this one-day event offers special activities for all ages, from Origami and Washi Lantern Installation workshops for good wishes, to Language Classes, Calligraphy Workshops, Kamishibai Storytelling, unlimited access to Bye Bye Kitty!!! and more.

Japanese sweets are available for free sampling and tasting.
Other food and drinks will be available for purchase.

WORKSHOPS

Ticketing opens at 11:00 AM for classes between 11:45 AM-2:15 PM
and at 2:15 PM for sessions scheduled 2:30-5:30 PM.


“Reach out to Japan” Language Classes

Sessions are: 11:45 AM-12:15 PM, 12:30-1, 1:15-1:45, 2-2:30, 2:45-3:15, 3:30-4, 4:15-4:45, 5-5:30.


Calligraphy Workshop

Japan Society is collecting photos of people with messages of support for Japan. We will project photos during the concert.
Please submit your photos to [email protected] by 12pm, Friday, April 8. All files should be JPEG format no larger than 2 MB.

$5, cash at door
(Admission includes gallery admission, workshops, classes, and the 11 AM, 2:45 PM, 4:15 PM and 8 PM concerts. Does not include GALA BLOCKS)
