Celebrating Japan’s Children’s Day through Performance & Crafts-Making: Kodomo no hi

From March 14–June 30, 2011:
50% of all ticket sales will go to Japan Society’s Earthquake Relief Fund.

Children and adults are invited to enjoy Children’s Day through a play of Japan’s classic children’s story featuring Peach Boy (momotaro), and song and dance related to the festival. Following the presentation, participants will enjoy traditional snacks (kashiwa mochi) and create their own samurai helmets (kabuto) and carp streamers (koinobori), traditional Children’s Day decorations. (Both boys and girls are welcome to participate).

Recommended for children ages 3-10 and accompanying adults. Program subject to change.

$12/$5 Japan Society members; children ages 2 or under free.
Corporate and individual member families may purchase tickets at the discounted price.
