Families learn about the rich cultural tradition of the tea ceremony (chanoyu) by touching, tasting and smelling tea (matcha), as well as tea bowls and tea utensils. Sen So’oku, the fifteenth-generation heir of the Mushakouji Sen family of tea masters, leads participants in a short version of the tea ceremony in the second half of the program.
