Experience the artistry of NYC-based traditional Japanese musicians in the intimate setting of Globus Washitsu—a Kyoto-style tatami room and ryokan—in this member-exclusive series.

This June, we are proud to invite multi-instrumentalist Zac Zinger for this intimate evening affair. Zac Zinger is a composer, arranger, orchestrator, music supervisor, with diverse experience in a wide variety of mediums. He has performed in distinguished venues such as Carnegie Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center, and has lectured on the shakuhachi at the World Shakuhachi Festival, Berklee College of Music and CalArts. He has been credited on commercial music releases and counting, including Lord of The Rings and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and has won awards including ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award, Johnny Mandel Prize and Tribeca New Music Competition.

Prior to Zac’s performance, tea and Japanese sweets will be served, followed by a chance to enjoy sake and sushi after the performance in this unique and soothing setting.

About the Performer
Zac Zinger
is an award-winning composer, arranger, orchestrator, music supervisor, and multi-instrumentalist with years of experience in a wide variety of mediums. He has performed in such esteemed venues as Carnegie Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center, and has been credited on 83 commercial music releases and counting. He has worked with Sir Paul McCartney, Branford Marsalis, Michael Bublé, Dionne Warwick, and Audra McDonald, and is a regular member of the Grammy Award-winning 8-Bit Big Band. He has lectured on the shakuhachi and multicultural art at the World Shakuhachi Festival, Berklee College of Music, CalArts, and Texas A&M.
