Confronting Disaster
Join this stimulating conversation with two artists working on the cutting edge of the visual arts and environmental justice. Munemasa Takahashi is the artist of Lost and Found, a project featured in In the Wake focusing on the recovery, restoration and digitization of personal photographs lost in the 3/11 disaster. He is joined by Brooklyn-based new media artist Hakan Topal, Ph.D., who for over a decade has concentrated on new approaches to art and design in the face of disaster, both natural and man-made. Followed by an exclusive gallery talk with the artists and a reception.
