Sex!? Murder!? Scandal!? Hiroko Yakushimaru plays Shizuka, who will stop at nothing to achieve fame and stardom in life on the theater stage. After she is forced into an outrageous cover-up scheme, Shizuka steals the principal role in the theater production of W’s Tragedy. The film follows Shizuka as she struggles to define herself as an actress and a woman, despite her naïveté. Known for his meticulous directing style, Shinichiro Sawai has made a numerous other “idol” films. Ranked #2 in Kinema Jumpo Best Ten Critics Poll in 1984.
