Japan Society is located near the United Nations, between First and Second Avenues, and is a short walk from Grand Central Terminal.

By Subway: Take the 4, 5, 6, 7 and S trains to Grand Central Station, the 6 train to 51st St. and Lexington Avenue, and the E and M trains to Lexington Avenue and 53rd St. Public parking is available nearby.

By Bus: Take the M15 to 47th Street, the M101 or M102 north on Third Avenue to 47th Street, or the crosstown M50 (on weekdays) or M42.

Japan Society is committed to offering programs and services that are accessible to all visitors. Public performance spaces, classrooms and restrooms are ADA compliant and accessible to everyone. We offer free gallery admission to patrons with disabilities and an accompanying Personal Care Assistant.

By purchasing a ticket and visiting Japan Society, you and your party are agreeing to abide by all Japan Society policies and safety protocols. Visitors who violate these policies may be asked to leave Japan Society without refund.

Student Group Tours
K-12 school groups can schedule virtual and on-site gallery tours for an interactive art experience led by trained museum educators, who incorporate close-looking, personal connections, inquiry, and related activities for K-12 students. Two weeks advance request recommended.

Box Office Policy
All ticket sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges. Latecomers will be admitted at the discretion of the management.
→ Programs are subject to change, including with respect to guest appearances.
→ Ticket resale on Japan Society grounds is prohibited.
→ Full-time students with a valid Student ID are eligible for student discounts, when available. Please bring a valid Student ID when purchasing or picking up discounted tickets. Please Note: not all events have Student discount tickets.
→ Any individual over the age of 65 years is eligible for senior discounts, when available. Please bring a valid ID when purchasing or picking up discounted tickets. Please Note: not all events have Senior discount tickets.
