Off-Site Event held at Christie’s, 20 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10020.

Join us for a fascinating behind-the-scenes walk-through, lecture and preview of Christie’s March 2004 Asian sales (March 18-25), led by several Christie’s specialists. Christie’s Asian sales include Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Indian and South East Asian art and comprise paintings, sculptures, painted screens, scrolls, calligraphy, woodcut prints, ceramics, lacquer, costumes, armor and swords. The market for Japanese art and Asian art in general remains buoyant, with strong prices across the board. People from all over the world buy at Christie’s auctions, as pieces are offered in all price ranges. This tour will not only teach you about Asian art, but also about bidding (scratching your nose is not a secret signal to bid), payment and much more. Christie’s sale viewings and auctions are free and open to the public and we hope that this event will help to demystify the auction process for young collectors!

Includes wine reception and bar snacks.
