With Donald Trump set to take office in January 2025, the United States and the world are closely watching the direction of his second presidency. Trump has already outlined parts of his agenda, including proposals for new tariffs on neighboring countries like Canada and Mexico, as well as China, set to take effect as soon as he takes office. What priorities will shape his first 100 days? How will Trump 2.0 influence U.S. trade policy, tariffs, and relations with China and other global powers? In this program, Wilbur Ross, former U.S. Secretary of Commerce during Trump’s first administration (2017-2021), offers an insider’s perspective based on his firsthand experience working closely with the president-elect. Secretary Ross discusses the policies and strategies likely to shape Trump’s second term and their potential implications for the U.S., Japan and the global stage.
