In this lesson of Waku Waku Japanese, Konomi teaches you how to ask someone out to do something!

Iku – to go
いく

Ikou – let’s go
いこう

Nomi ni ikou – let’s go out to drink
のみにいこう

O-sushi o tabe ni ikou – let’s go eat sushi
おすしをたべにいこう

Suta-bakusu ni ikou – let’s go to Starbucks
スターバクスにいこう

Kouen ni ikou – let’s go to the park
こうえんにいこう

Umi ni ikou – let’s go to the beach
うみにいこう

Structure:

Place + ni (particle) + ikou = let’s go to (place)

So next time you want to ask someone out to do something, try out the verb "ikou!" to ask them out!
