ウキウキ NihonGO! Lesson #10 Small Talk Part 1

Welcome to Uki Uki NihonGO + Culture!

Today we’ll introduce some of the most common 10-second small talk phrases you can use in various places. This time, we’ll look at casual small talk.

Let’s say you, Takeshi, just ran into your close friend, Ken in an elevator at school. The conversation usually goes like this.

A, Ken. Ohayou. (Oh, hey Ken, good morning.)
Ohayou. (Good morning.)
Dou, genki? (How’s it going?)
Un. Takeshi wa? (OK. And you, Takeshi?)
Un. (Good.)

Ja, matane. (See you later.)
Jaane. (See ya.)

Next time you run into your friend, definitely try out these quick phrases!
