This summer, Japan Society hosts artist collective three at our inaugural summer artist residency program. Consisting of three young artists who generally choose to remain anonymous, three creates whimsical sculptures and space-altering installations using everyday material such as plastic anime figures and small fish-shaped plastic soy-sauce containers.

On July 27, from 12–5 p.m., Japan Society Gallery holds an open studio during which the public will be able to meet and interact with these dynamic young talents. The works they have newly created for Japan Society Gallery will also be on view.

THIS EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

The Summer Artist Residency Program is generously supported by Mitchell and Joleen Julis.

three’s residency in New York City is made possible, in part, by The Globus Family.

Transportation is generously provided by United Airlines.
