The Role of Credit Rating Agencies in Japan and the United States
The Center on Japanese Economy and Business, Columbia Business School is pleased to welcome Douglas L. Peterson, president, Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services, and Hidetaka Tanaka, senior executive managing director, Rating and Investment Information, Inc., one of the major rating agencies in Japan, for a discussion regarding the current and future roles of credit agencies in both Japan and the United States. Columbia Business School’s very own Patrick Bolton, Barbara and David Zalaznick Professor of Business, Columbia Business School, and author of The Credit Ratings Game, will serve as commentator. In addition, Hugh Patrick, Robert D. Calkins Professor of International Business Emeritus, and director, Center on Japanese Economy and Business, Columbia Business School, will moderate the discussion.
