Create your own bonsai! Treat yourself this winter to a vibrant workshop on this meditative art form, led by expert botanist and bonsai specialist Julian Velasco. This day-long event features an in-depth morning seminar on the history and craft of this classical Japanese art form, an exclusive viewing of rare examples, and a guided discussion around Japan Society’s two bonsai, recently installed in our lobby. Practice your newly refined skills in an afternoon workshop with your very own bonsai tree, which you can continue to cultivate at home.

Tickets: $125/$110 Japan Society members, seniors & students. Ticket price covers seminar, lecture and workshop, including your very own bonsai. Capacity for this event is extremely limited.
