SOLD OUT Members Only Event:
Tour & Lunch at Nakashima Studio
Visitors to Japan Society often comment on the extraordinary collection of wooden chairs, tables and benches displayed throughout our building. These pieces were handcrafted by the celebrated Japanese American architect and master woodworker George Nakashima, who developed his unique design sensibility after years of study in the United States and Japan. Today Nakashima’s legacy is continued by his daughter, Mira, at his studio and home in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Join us on October 25 when we travel to the Nakashima workshop to meet with Mira Nakashima, and enjoy a private tour and lunch at the studio.
