Economic woes in the U.S. and Japan have made career-building a daunting task. As women achieve positions of leadership and power the world over, Japan is finally encouraging women to work, but they need the skills to move up in an overwhelmingly male-dominated workplace. Western culture is more accepting of career women, but business still is mostly a world of men. How has our current crop of leaders blazed a path for themselves and the women who follow? Powerful American executives from a variety of industries including law, media and finance share their strategies, successes and views on leadership and building careers in business.
