Self-confessed manga artisan Mon, who draws and paints on stones, meets successful amateur manga artist Koino, who is into cosplay (dressing up like manga and anime characters) and sells her work at Comiket, and their relationship develops amidst ups and downs. This is a film directorial debut for Matsuo, who is also a playwright, stage director, novelist and actor. Musician Kiyoshiro Imawano and film director Shinya Tsukamoto make an appearance on screen.

New York-based cosplayers will appear in costume before the film.


A brief introduction of the film will be given by Brian Camp, critic of film and popular culture. Mr. Camp writes extensively about Japanese popular culture and anime.  He is a regular contributor to Animerica Magazine and the Program Manager for CUNY-TV/City University Television in New York.
