Oshogatsu: New Year’s Day Celebration

Celebrate Japan’s New Year’s holiday with lion dancing (shishi-mai) accompanied by live taiko drumming. There will be lots of traditional New Year’s activities for children, including special New Year’s calligraphy (kakizome), kite-making/flying (takoage), funny-face game (fukuwarai) and rice pounding (mochi-tsuki).

Recommended for all ages.  Program subject to change.

Tickets per session:
$25 per family (up to 5 people)/$15 per family, including at least one Japan Society member.

Tickets for the 2 PM session are SOLD OUT.
Unclaimed tickets will be released for purchase at the beginning of the event.

Tickets for the 3 PM session are still available.

Space is limited. Advanced ticket purchase is strongly recommended.
