Thursday–Saturday, October 11–13 at 8:30 pm

The Matsuyama, Japan-based quintet, Yummy Dance returns to New York for a shared evening with special guest artist Nami Yamamoto. The performers in Yummy Dance’s Bring Me a PPPeach grapple with waiting and heightening states of impatience. As time lags, they grow more and more insane. Sweet memories surface, loneliness sets in and their sense of self begins to blur until someone or something manages to bring them back to the present. Acclaimed Japanese-American choreographer Nami Yamamoto offers audiences a peek
at her work-in-progress, a howling flower, which will premiere at Dance Theater Workshop in fall 2008. In this excerpt, tony, and me, the performers create an emotional landscape within a mysterious and compelling exploration of an intricate duality of being.

This performance is a part of Turning Japanese, a city-wide celebration commemorating Japan Society’s Centennial.

Tickets: $15/$10 Danspace Project members
