Not Held at Japan Society – American Roots Music Benefit Concert

Sequoia Community Initiatives, a non-profit organization benefiting the homeless and other special needs populations, will present their second annual American Roots Music Benefit Concert at the world famous Apollo Theater on Thursday, November 16 from 8 – 10 pm EST. This event aims to raise funds that will continue to allow Sequoia Community Initiatives to provide essential services to New York’s homeless and to continue to grow stronger, more vibrant communities.
For the first time ever, the Tokyo Mass Choir will be featured at the world-famous Apollo Theater. Comprised of one hundred fifty students from eight prestigious schools all over Tokyo, where Guest artists such as John Lennon, Yoko Ono and Michael Jackson have appeared, The Tokyo Mass Choir is the most successful and popular gospel group in the country, traveling internationally.
Other performers include Richard Hartley & Soul Resurrection, Haven House Choir, Rory Block and New Orleans native, Kipori ‘Baby Wolf’ Woods.
Ticket prices range from $50 to a $150 VIP ticket which includes access to a VIP only pre-show cocktail event with a jazz piano performance by the Yovanne Pierre Trio.
