Speaker
Hiromi Yamaji, Group CEO, Japan Exchange Group, Inc.
As the global economy grapples with uncertainties stemming from President Trump’s tariff policies, escalating geopolitical tensions, and a rapid AI revolution, among other factors, Japan remains a key, stabilizing player in international markets and diplomacy. Amid these global headwinds, Japanese stocks have shown notable resilience. Much of this strength is attributed to ongoing market reforms designed to enhance transparency and build investor confidence. How is Japan’s market adapting to these international pressures and evolving challenges? In this program, we welcome Hiromi Yamaji, Group CEO of Japan Exchange Group, which owns the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Under his leadership, he has encouraged companies to improve governance practices and corporate values leading to the Nikkei average to a 34-year-high in 2024. Mr. Yamaji will share his expert insights on Japan’s bold corporate governance reforms, examine shifting corporate values, and offer a forward-looking perspective on where Japan’s market is headed in an increasingly uncertain world.
