This extraordinary debut film by Ken Yunome examines the intricate and troubling relationships between a man, an older woman and her daughter. Daniel falls in love with Lena, a woman he meets in a bar. Knowing nothing about her except that she lives on Staten Island, he waits for her at the ferry each day. When he finally finds her, they avidly pursue their passion until Lena’s sudden death, which leads him to her daughter Alicia. Selected by Cannes International Film Festival’s Certain Regard.
