Speaker
Ben S. Bernanke, Member, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System

Presider
Peter Peterson, Chairman, The Blackstone Group

In his two-year tenure, Federal Reserve Governor Ben S. Bernanke has been widely credited with injecting new and sometimes unorthodox ideas into the Fed’s policy discussions. The Japanese economy suffered an unprecedented bout of deflation, and the U.S. nearly did, in a period of historically low interest rates. Now, both economies are on the mend. With interest rates and oil prices on the rise, Governor Bernanke discusses the experience of both economies and the challenges ahead.
