North American Premiere. City Hunter is a beloved manga created by Tsukasa Hojo that has been winning fans since its original debut in 1985 and has over 50 million copies in print. The story of private detective Ryo Saeba, the saga follows his adventures in Tokyo’s underworld and is filled with action, drama, romance and comedy. Expanding from its manga roots, it has been adapted into a popular anime, with its ending theme “Get Wild” by TM Network still one of the most iconic J-Pop songs today. Beyond Japan, City Hunter is tremendously popular throughout Asia and Europe with multiple live-action remakes in France, Hong Kong and Korea.

Now, to celebrate its 35th anniversary, Sunrise and Aniplex proudly present City Hunter: Angel Dust. Based on the manga’s never-before-animated finale, Ryo Saeba must come face-to-face with his dark past and an army of super soldiers injected with powerful nanomachines called “Angel Dust.”

City Hunter: Angel Dust also features the return of TM Network with an all-new opening theme, “Whatever Comes.”

Admission to this film also includes free entry to a special preview of Acky Bright: Studio Infinity, Japanese pop culture illustrator Acky Bright’s first solo gallery exhibition in NYC. Exhibition preview is August 23-25 from 12 to 7 PM at the Japan Society Gallery.
