Bang On A Can All-Stars

The unstoppable Bang on a Can All-Stars break new ground in two world premiere works by Japan’s most sought-after composers: acclaimed Somei Satoh and Nobukazu Takemura.

Bang on a Can All-Stars, New York’s sexy, high-energy, electric chamber ensemble highlights two facets of the current Japanese music scene. Nobukazu Takemura, who began his musical career as one of Japan’s most innovative DJs, is now one of the world’s leading electronica composer/performers. His works combine disarmingly simple tunes with dazzling electronics. Somei Satoh’s elegant and spiritual compositions have made him a frequent guest of leading concert organizations worldwide, including a premiere at the New York Philharmonic in 2000. Created especially for this event, these two new works are commissioned by Bang on a Can.
