Open to Sustaining+ members

Japan Society members are invited to an exclusive self-guided walkthrough of Christie’s upcoming Japanese and Korean Art sale before public viewing hours. Enjoy the Christie’s Café with light breakfast pastries and experience the tranquility and intimacy of exploring this exceptional collection at your own pace during this special members-only access time.

This season’s Japanese and Korean Art sale features a superb woodblock print by Toshusai Sharaku and an elegant scroll painting by Katsushika Hokusai. The collection includes a fine selection of 20th-century prints by masters like Kawase Hasui and Yoshida Hiroshi, extraordinary Buddhist sculptures from both Japan and Korea, an iconic selection of modern art from the two cultures, and a curated selection of lacquer works, metalworks, sculptures and more.

Christie’s specialists will be available in the gallery to answer questions, but members are welcome to enjoy the exhibition independently, spending time with works that resonate most with their interests. Detailed exhibition materials will be provided to enhance your understanding of the pieces on display.

This exclusive access offers a unique opportunity to appreciate these masterpieces in a calm setting before the exhibition opens to the general public. Discover the artistic connections between Japan and Korea and engage with these cultural treasures at your own rhythm.

This event is exclusively for Japan Society members. Space is limited, and advance registration is required.
