Sake & Otsumami Night: Experience Japanese Food Culture

At this intimate tasting event for our inaugural Sake & Food Festival, we invite you to join us for a festive evening of sake and food. Sample a selection of sake from over 25 different breweries from across Japan, alongside a menu of otsumami, or small bites paired with alcohol, crafted to fit the occasion. Do you prefer sake with a gentle flavor and fruity notes, or something more full-bodied and dry? Which flavors pair best with your favorite sake? Take this opportunity to discover your preferences, try out new food pairings, and expand your tastes to new horizons.

At this program we will be serving the following selection of passed hors d’oeuvres:

Scallop Carpaccio
Hotate scallop carpaccio, served with a refreshing Japanese plum dressing

Marinated Yellowtail
Yellowtail marinated in rich sesame soy sauce, with fragrant herbs and green onions

Grilled Unagi
Specially grilled unagi (eel) served with cucumber salad

Wagyu Hamburger Steak
Wagyu beef patty infused with truffle, served with onion sauce

Salmon Fillet
Salmon fillet meunière topped with shiso and grated daikon, finished with an umami dressing

Savory Cod Bites
Savory cod marinated in miso topped with pickled red onion

Guests can also enjoy a hiyayakko (chilled tofu) station, where they can customize silken tofu with a variety of delicious toppings.

Take the opportunity to do a deep dive into sake and Japanese food beyond the basics, exploring Japan’s rich culinary history and cultural traditions, and tasting a wide array of flavors first hand. Hear from our experts and connoisseurs, discover ways to deepen your appreciation of this beloved drink and learn more about the food culture surrounding sake.
