2024 Dinner Celebration in Japan – Yoko Shioya 20th Anniversary

Japan Society was proud to host a dinner in Japan in partnership with the International House of Japan to celebrate both organizations mission as well as Japan Society Artistic Director Yoko Shioya’s 20th anniversary and recognition of outstanding achievement through the Foreign Ministry’s Commendation of 2024, presented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

The evening included a performance by renowned shamisen artist Hiromitsu Agatsuma and remarks by living legend of kyogen Mansai Nomura, who discussed how his family has been impacted by Japan Society for 4 generations. The evening also marked the culmination of Japan Society’s first board meeting ever hosted in Japan in the organization’s storied history.
