Japan Society School Partnership (JSSP) 2024-25 Student Exhibition
This exhibition is free and accessible to the public in the A-level lobby during opening hours from July 8 through August 21, 2025.
Japan Society School Partnership (JSSP) was launched in fall 2022 to make quality arts and culture programming and learning opportunities more accessible to underserved schools. While all NYC Title 1 school groups have free access to Japan Society’s gallery tours and hands-on workshops, JSSP seeks to deepen understanding of Japan and U.S.-Japan relations through long-term, multi-year partnerships with a select group of New York City public schools from underserved areas, celebrating diversity both within our local communities and around the globe.
In the 2024-25 school year, students, teachers, administrators and families from seven Partner Schools participated in a variety of Japan Society’s education programs and events including gallery tours and hands-on arts and culture workshops to learn about different Japanese art forms; online and onsite after-school programs to engage more with Japan and explore students’ interests outside of the classroom; a special performing arts workshop; a career talk from an anime professional; and family festivities celebrating some of Japan’s most important holidays.
This student exhibition showcases the experiences, creativity and growth of our partner school students with a display of artwork selected from a portion of the programs offered in the 2024-25 school year.
