Join us for an intimate evening of traditional Japanese music and contemporary compositions with acclaimed NYC-based artist Elizabeth Brown at Globus Washitsu—a serene Kyoto-style tatami room and ryokan.

This exclusive member-only event on November 4 showcases Elizabeth Brown, a celebrated composer, shakuhachi player, flutist, and thereminist. Known for her unique blend of Eastern and Western sensibilities, Brown’s compositions have earned her prestigious awards in both the United States and Japan. She has collaborated with renowned artists, performed at esteemed venues and festivals worldwide, and served as an Artist-in-Residence at various U.S. National Parks.

The evening begins with a traditional tea ceremony, followed by a greeting from Japan Society and an introduction to the artist. Elizabeth Brown will then captivate the audience with her mesmerizing performance, which includes a talk and Q&A session, and a rare opportunity for attendees to interact with the instruments. The event concludes with a delightful sushi and sake reception.

Don’t miss this extraordinary chance to experience the beauty and depth of traditional Japanese music and contemporary compositions in an intimate setting. This special event is available exclusively to Sponsor Level members and above, with limited space available.
