Now that the summer is all but gone and everyone's heading back to school, here's a lesson to reminisce about those summer days spent at the beach! So put on your hiyakedome (sunscreen) and let's go to the umi (beach)!Atsui - hot
Zansho - lingering summer heat
Zansho mimai - late summer greeting card
To iu wake de kyou wa umi ni kimashita - so that's why I decided to come to the beach today
Umi e iku - to go to the beach
Kaisuiyoku - swim in the ocean
Kaisui - sea water
Mizugi - swimming suit
Hiyakedome - sunscreen
Hiyake - suntan or sunburn
Hi - the sun
Yakeru - to burn
Sunahama - sandy part of the beach
Suna - sand
Hama - the bay
Bi-san - beach sandals
Kaigara - seashells
Kai - shellfish
Gara/kara - outside shell
Hitode - starfish
Kani - crabs
Yadokari - hermit crabs
Tsumetakute kimochii - cool/refreshing and feels good
Shoppai - salty
Shio - salt
Nami - waves
Nami ni noru - to ride a wave
Oyogu - to swim
Moguru - to dive underwater
Ippai asonde tsukaremashita - I played so much I'm tired
Ippai - lots
Asobu - to play
Tsukareru - to be tired
Demo tanoshikatta desu - but it was fun
Natsuyasumi mo mou owari ka - summer break is about to end
Zannendesu - such a pity
Even though the summer is far away, start practicing these words so that next year you can be prepared and enjoy the beach!
