The Japan Society Toyota Language Center is pleased to offer four-day Intensive Japanese Weekend Courses. These are concentrated courses designed to teach beginners basic conversational skills. They will be useful to people with traveling conflicts or scheduling problems, or who were too late to register or missed too many of our regular classes. They are also meant for people who are planning to travel or move to Japan. The textbook used in all classes is Japanese for Busy People, Volume I (Revised 3rd Edition: Romanized), edited by AJALT, and will be available at the Japan Society at the discounted price of $25. Students can move from these courses into our weekday classes with a minimum of difficulty.
Weekend Course 1
For students with no previous background in Japanese. The vocabulary and dialogues in the first half of Japanese for Busy People Vol. I will be covered.
Weekend Course 2
For students with some background in Japanese. The course will review the first half of Japanese for Busy People Vol. I and then concentrate on lessons 8 through 16.
Weekend Course 3
This course will cover lessons 17 through 25 of Japanese for Busy People Vol. I.
All courses meet for four days on two consecutive weekends: November 3, 4, 10 & 11 from 11 am to 4:30 pm, for a total of 18 hours of instruction. There will be an hour break for lunch from 1 to 2 pm.
