Overview



Japan Society’s Talks+ Program examines vital issues and themes in modern Japanese art, culture and design. Programming is designed to inform and to provide a gateway through which Americans can appreciate the powerful global influence of Japan’s culture and its many trend-defining artisans. Our programs bring together experts and practitioners for provocative discussions on diverse topics including aesthetics, consumer culture and cuisine.

Fumihiko Maki on New National Stadium 2020


On June 10, 2015, Pritzker Prize-winning architect Fumihiko Maki shared his viewpoints on the announced National Olympic Stadium planned for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Moderated by Toshiko Mori, Robert P. Hubbard Professor in the Practice of Architecture at Harvard University Graduate School of Design and principal of Toshiko Mori Architect, PLLC.
